Pinhey's Point Foundation. For an artifact cataloguing, appraising and restoration project. The initiative will help preserve the history of this rural area on the Ottawa river. $27,000 over one year.

Ross Township Historical Society of Whitewater Region. To enhance the Heritage Gardens site and enable the Ross Museum to renovate its facility and acquire materials and local artifacts. The initiative will safeguard local heritage and promote it through community events. $9,400 over 15 months.

St. Joseph's Parish. To improve the accessibility of a community hall which is used by many community organizations and supports groups that work with homeless and disadvantaged people in downtown Ottawa. $44,000 over three months.

The Stone Fence Theatre. To support marketing efforts that will promote community involvement in the theatre's 2004-05 summer season. The initiative will benefit local artists and attract tourists to the Ottawa Valley. $12,000 over one year.

Tropical Conservancy. To organize and host the 1st International Symposium on Biodiversity and Health. The event will promote public understanding of the role all life forms play in supporting the Earth's ecology and health. $20,000 over five months.

Turtle S.H.E.L.L (Safety Habitat Education Long Life). To promote awareness of native turtle populations and their habitats by contributing to organizational planning and volunteer recruitment. $23,500 over one year.

Watson's Mills Manotick Inc. For the restoration of the building's roof, windows and two chimneys. This working gristmill, which is located on the Rideau River in the Village of Manotick, is an important historic site and tourist attraction. $67,000 over six months.

Downeyville Playground c/o Father Walsh Knights of Columbus. To increase social and recreational opportunities for children in a rural, isolated community by installing a new playground for use by the Downeyville community. $18,200 over six months.
