Canadians rate health positively

Community Action, March 21, 2005

MARKHAM, ON -- Canadians rate their overall health positively, with 82% of respondents describing their overall health as "excellent" or "good," and only 17% rating their overall health as "fair" or "poor," according to the HealthCare 2004 study from ACNielsen, a marketing research firm.

While people aged 65 or older were three times as likely as those under 35 (27 percent vs. 9 percent) to rate their overall health as "fair" or "poor," the vast majority (73 percent) of the oldest respondents rated their health as "good" or "excellent."
