YELLOWKNIFE -- The governments of Canada and Northwest Territories have signed an Affordable Housing Agreement with $45 million in new funding from the two levels of government.

The funding -- a maximum $7.5 million from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and $37.8 million in capital contributions or subsidies from Northwest Territories Housing Corporation - will be used for two programs: the Independent Housing Program, providing affordable home ownership for low income families and the Assisted Rental Housing, providing rent geared-to-income housing for low income seniors and singles. 867-920-6534
