CIDA fund Russian women's project - Commission On The Future Of Health Care - Canadian International Development Agency - Brief Article

Moscow -- The Canadian International Development Agency has increased its support for a project to help improve gender equality in the Russian labour market by $600,000 for a total of $2.6 million. The Canadian and Russian partners are working with the Russian State Duma to draft a model law on gender equality for both the federal and regional levels.

The project also includes developing a course for union leaders on the gender aspects of collective bargaining, training for unemployed women in Kirov and establishment of an centre for women entrepreneurs in Murmansk. Carleton University and the Yukon government are managing the project with several Russian partners, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Development. 819-953-6534
