Journal of Diabetes Nursing, Jan-Feb, 2002
The Education Development Group continues to progress with developing the national diabetes course for nurses.
Pilot course
The University of Central England in Birmingham has now agreed to be a pilot site, with a view to starting the course in October 2002. I have also met with DSNs from Scotland to discuss the feasibility of piloting the course there; this is currently been reviewed.
Proposed title
The proposed title of the course is 'Diploma in Professional Studies (Diploma for nurses specialising in Diabetes)'. The course will be for those nurses working in diabetes new to post or those who demonstrate a commitment to specialise in diabetes in the future.
