Education and Development Group of diabetes specialist nurses

Journal of Diabetes Nursing, May, 2005 by Anne Phillips

Here I give a fairly brief update on the progress for the National Degree for Diabetes Nursing. The degree is recruiting for an October 2005 start at the Department of Health Sciences, University of York. As this is the national degree, we would like other higher education institutes to consider making the degree available for their students, and as a group we are willing to work with the higher education institutes to maintain the national focus of the curriculum.

If any readers could put the Education and Development Group members in touch with diabetes course leaders across the UK, where this degree could potentially be run, please can you contact us.

The plan is to have sites in the south of England (in London), in the middle of England, in Scotland and in Wales. This is to enable the national focus to be maintained and to enable ease of access for nurses wishing to specialise across the UK.
