Dust to Dust

Dust to Dust

   Dust
   Shrouding somber Roman pews
Chokes the movements of a solitary priest,
One lonely creature barely visible in the dark filtered light
   Of dirty stained glass windows.

   Stone walls
Hide the laughter of children outside
Souls swinging in lightness and air
Soaring hearts pounding, reaching for God
   Celebrating the absence
   Of dust.
