ALPHA admirer

Catholic New Times, April 9, 2006 by Bev Murray

I find your newspaper most refreshing and progressive in its views. (So glad you cannot be muzzled by the Vatican, like the editor of AMERICA was).

I am really surprised you have not clued into ALPHA, the wonderful, non-denominational movement that is finally catching on in the Catholic Church, (at least where there are progressive pastors), as it has in so many other Christian denominations. It has been ongoing for 25 years, is now in 155 countries and 55 different languages.

This wonderful movement has certainly changed my faith (probably saved it). It stresses the beliefs we Christians have in common, and that can bring us together, rather than stressing what divides us.

Attending ALPHA, and becoming a subscriber and ardent fan of your newspaper, has invigorated my personal faith and relationship with Jesus, and given me great hope for the future of the Christian church as a united movement. I only wish I had discovered ALPHA 25 years ago, when it first began, and your newspaper when it first came together.

Keep up the good work, but please consider promoting ALPHA to enhance your progressiveness even more.
