Bruce Willis is reinvented in 16 Blocks and finds God, thank God

16 Blocks, staring Bruce Willis and Mos Def, directed by Richard Donner.

So I paid to see one of the current huge Hollywood blockbusters but there were no good seats left, so I opted to switch my ticket for this little advertised new Bruce Willis movie, 16 Blocks, not expecting anything worthwhile.

Well, two hours went "bye" in no time, and when the end credits came, people were clapping. Were we all just happy that it wasn't as bad as we thought?

Hardly. The movie closely followed the template of every action film Willis has done since Die Hard, but it reinvents itself the whole way through. Instead of being a cocky, good-looking good-guy trying to save lives, he is a self-hating, unkempt and ugly bad guy trying to use someone to do something he can't.

Well, I certainly don't want to give away the plot, but I can assure you that you will enjoy this low-budget action movie that does not rely upon any special effects or explosions at all, just a good script and entertaining dialogue between Bruce and his accidental partner played by Mos Def.

This despicable cop, played by Willis eventually finds grace and God holding a magnum and drinking a few shots on the side while on the job.
