No fan of the ambassador

Catholic New Times, May 4, 2003 by Tom Trottier

The U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Paul Cellucci, (CNT April 20,2003) finds it "incomprehensible" that Canada's ships in the Persian Gulf would not automatically turn over possible Iraqi war or human rights criminals to the U.S. I find it "incomprehensible" that the U.S. should have such an ignorant and undiplomatic ambassador.

There is now a world court for war criminals, the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands. The U.S. signed the ICC treaty in December 2000, though it hasn't ratified it yet. The U.S. State Department should keep its ambassadors informed.

No wonder Bush isn't coming to Canada. With advice from this ambassador, many stupid decisions are possible.
