Catholic writer's retreat
Catholic New Times, May 9, 2004 by Gerry McCarthy
Crosthwaite writes for numerous Catholic publications, including a Catholic Worker newsletter in Boise. She says the retreat provided plenty of practical information too. "I didn't understand the mechanics of book publishing," she says. "But now I see where I fit as a writer."
Masson says he doesn't know of another retreat of this kind. "I've never encountered anything like this that blends the religious, spiritual, and writing life."
For Wright, the retreat provides a boost for both experienced and novice writers. "It's a very inspiring place for writers to be," she says. "Especially for those who are not sure where they're going. This place gives them permission to not know where their writing is going next."
Gerry McCarthy is editor of The Social Edge, an on-line social justice and faith magazine.
