Consumer internet barometer

The latest findings of the Consumer Internet Barometer www.consumerinternetbarometer.us show an up-tick in U.S. Internet usage for the fourth quarter 2002. Nearly 61 percent of consumers surveyed reported going online at least once a month, a modest increase from 58.7 percent in 2001.

In terms of usage, personal communication is still the biggest draw at 37.9 percent. Work-related tasks (17.8 percent) and research (17.3 percent) were next in line.
