With all the components integrated into me automation and home entertainment systems, just finding the correct remote control to turn on the television can be a challenge. That's why custom builder Carmen Dominguez started using the Crestron ST-1700C touchpanel control for the entertainment and automation systems in the homes she builds. After installing it in her own home first, she found it completely changed her life by simplifying the operation of her home entertainment system.

The ST-1700C's 5.7-inch screen is a high-resolution, wireless active matrix display panel that can be programmed to control nearly any system in the home from security cameras and lighting to whole-house audio and HVAC systems. Five programmable, engravable buttons operate without waking the touchpanel display, helping to further extend the life of the long-lasting NiMH batteries. The touchpanels are ergonomically shaped and lightweight, providing fingertip control of any device. A variety of custom- programmed icons and graphics are available.

Dominguez says the controller empowers her to be able to do what she needs to do with her home entertainment system without having to ask other people for help. And her clients love it in their homes because it's so different. "The screen and icons are colorful, graphics are cool, and it gives a modern look and feel to the home entertainment system," Dominguez says * Crestron. 888.273.7876. www.crestron.com. Circle 185.
