New FileMaker plug-in. Troi Automatisering of Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands, this month posted a beta of Troi FM Plug-in that adds three functions to Claris Corp.'s FileMaker database. The plug-in enables dynamic dialog boxes that can create text and buttons on the fly via calculation fields. Data Encryption Standard encryption of fields is included. The plug-in also allows manipulation of fields; for example, a user could save the contents of a field to another file.
The final version of the plug-in will ship later in the year as $30 shareware.
