DigArts sprouts new Painter nozzles

DigArts Software this month released a new version of its Garden Hose add-on for MetaCreations Corp.'s Painter and Detailer applications.

Garden Hose works with the Image Hose function in Painter or Detailer and lets users "spray" on an array of floral images. Version 2.2, $39.95, contains 17 varieties of plants and other elements and 120 unique nozzles, with more than 400 nozzles in all.

The upgrade includes additional tree floaters and brings the number of patterns and textures to 35, DigArts said. It includes assorted vine and branch nozzles for almost all the plants; the nozzles let users render foliage with branches, twigs and vines visible among the leaves. A cloud nozzle lets users paint sky scenes.

Upgrades from Version 2.0, which had been bundled with Painter, are $9.95.
