Tips for groin pain - mailbox

Natural Health, Jan-Feb, 2002

R. TAYLOR from Jackson, Miss., wrote in regarding her son's testicular pain.

A READER from South Dakota responded via email: This pain could be the result of trigger points (or knots of muscle tension) in his outer thigh or outer abdominal muscles. An experienced massage therapist who understands trigger points may be able to offer relief. Energy work like therapeutic touch or Reiki are also promising for pain relief.

SARA MANWILLER from Vail, Colo., responded via email: The pain may result from an irritated lumbo-sacral nerve root. Also, injuries like joint problems can lead to pain in the testicles. As a physical therapist, I recommend a screening by a manually trained therapist or chiropractor.
