Get Glowing Skin

Natural Health, April, 1999 by Katherine Gallia, Susanne Althoff, Melissa Nachatelo

BRUSHING YOUR DRY SKIN adds about five minutes to your bathing routine, but those who do swear it's worth the hassle. The brushing removes dead skin and may even boost the circulation of your blood and lymphatic fluids. Ayurvedic monk Maya Tiwari, author of Ayurveda, Secrets of Healing (Lotus Press, 1995), recommends brushing several times a week.

Before bathing, use a plant or animal bristle brush to gently rub your whole body, starting with the soles of your feet. Brushing in small circles, move up your extremities and trunk toward your heart. Switch to a gentle face brush for your face.
