Attitude adjustment: chase the moody blues away with just the right moves - Born To Move

Natural Health, March, 2004 by Linda Shelton

Listen: Sound has a profound effect on your senses and can alter your mood consciously or subliminally. Keep specific tunes at hand that will inspire, energize or relax you whenever you need it.

Hug a tree: Get outside in a natural setting. Even a 10-minute refresher is enough to change a state of mind.

Get comfy: Be aware of comfort clothes, such as your favorite sweater, and the tactile pleasures around you that may help you feel more at ease.

Change the scenery: If your office desk is a stress-maker, reorganize it so you feel more in control. Taking a short break from a stressful situation or environment, especially between activities or tasks, will help adjust your attitude.

Don't wait to exhale: Deep, meditative breathing can have a significant effect on your physical and mental state. "Breathing may be the master function of the body, affecting all others," writes Andrew Weil, M.D., in Spontaneous Healing. "How we breathe both reflects the state of the nervous system and influences the state of the nervous system."
