Improve your sex drive: research shows that a supplement may help get you in the mood - Natural Medicine - ArginMax for Women - Brief Article

Natural Health, July, 2002

WOMEN WHO HAVE LACKLUSTER libidos may be able to restore the spark. Researchers recently tested the supplement ArginMax for Women, which contains the herbs ginseng (Panax ginseng), ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba), and damiana (Turnera diffusa) and the amino acid L-arginine, and found that it improved the sex drive of 73.5 percent of the 77 women studied, according to co-author Mary Lake Polan, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of gynecology and obstetrics at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. Daily Wellness Company, the maker of ArginMax, funded the research, which appeared in the December 2001 issue of the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy. Rekindle for Women, another product containing these ingredients, will be available in September.

The study results are indeed plausible, says Elena Oumano, Ph.D., author of Natural Sex (Plume, 1999). You may even be able to get the same results by taking these sex-enhancing herbs individually. But Oumano adds that you'll further improve your sex life if you strengthen your pelvic muscles and stretch your lower spine muscles (try Kegel exercises and yoga).
