Topic: RSS FeedThe best herb for prostate health: surprise, menit's not saw palmetto - Natural Medicine - red clover - Brief Article
Natural Health, August, 2003
SAW PALMETTO (SERENOA repens) may be the best-known herb for prostate health, but a new review of research shows red clover (Trifolium pratense) may work even better. Researchers found that red clover treats the urinary problems associated with an enlarged prostate more effectively than saw palmetto and four other commonly recommended prostate herbs.
If you suffer from prostate problems like frequent urination and difficulty urinating, consult your doctor before taking red clover. If he approves of its use, take 40 mg of the liquid extract or 500 mg in capsule form daily. You should see improvement within three months.
