Role model

Natural Health, June, 2008 by Cathy Harkness

I was surprised to see the article "Model of Health" [February 2008, page 15] about supermodel Carol Alt. Her story of discovering health through raw food seems inspiring, but her weight of 125 pounds at 5'10" does not seem healthy to me. I do believe in the benefits of a raw food diet, but I disagree that an underweight supermodel should be the spokesperson for this diet.

For Carol Alt, converting to a raw food diet improved her health and sense of wellbeing. We were happy to share her positive experience but do not consider her a spokesperson for the raw food movement.
