Should you feel guilty if you don't buy green? Many consumers who say they care about the earth aren't buying environmentally friendly products. Should they feel bad? - Backtalk

Natural Health, Sept, 2002

GREEN CONSUMERS DON'T ALWAYS put their money where their mouths are. In a 2002 marketing survey of people who say they care about the environment, only 63 percent said they actually buy environmentally friendly products. A mere 27 percent said they're willing to pay 20 percent more for a green purchase.

Other reports say that consumers' frustrations about the inconvenience, higher cost, and inferior quality of some green products deter them from buying. Should shoppers who say they care about the earth feel guilty about putting cost and quality first?
