No fibbing about allergies

Natural Health, Dec, 2001 by Elisa Federspiel

In "How to Eat Well When You're Eating Out" (News & Notes, September 2001), you suggest using an excuse of food allergies to have food cooked in a particular way. This recommendation puts people with real allergies at risk. I have children with food allergies, and I rely on the waiter to believe me. Please do not use this excuse unless it's true.
