THE CHINESE HERBAL FORMULAS Chasu Jianfei Diet Capsules and Chasu Gempi have been linked to several deaths and hundreds of cases of liver and thyroid problems in Japan, says the FDA. The products may be laced with the diet drug fenfluramine, which was banned in the United States in 1997. For more information on safe diet aids, see "Weight-Loss Supplements that Work," page 48.
