Four laps, four quarters of a mile, under 4 minutes

Running & FitNews, March-April, 2004

Join the American Running Association (ARA) fifty years later to celebrate the grand achievement of Sir Roger Bannister, MD, and many of the other greats in the mile from America and other nations of the world. American Running and its professional division, the American Medical Athletic Association (AMAA) are privileged to salute some of the greatest miler pioneers in world history. Over the past 50 years, running a sub-4 mile has been viewed as one of the great clubs to join in running. On this celebratory evening, many of the male and female pioneers in the mile will be present to be honored for "Mastering the Mile."
