Running & FitNews, April, 2002
It can be hard to separate hype from hard facts when it comes to medical news in the mass media (unless you read it in Running & FitNews, that is). Rumors and misinformation can spread via the Internet faster than the flu in an elevator (a good reason to take the stairs, by the way). In order to have an antidote to false and misleading health information, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed a Web page called "Hoaxes and Rumors" to correct misinformation.
Go to www.cdc.gov and click on "Hoaxes and Rumors" to get the straight scoop.
