> The National Academies' Institute of Medicine (NAIM) recently published 60 minutes per day--for both adults and children--as the new guidelines for exercise and physical activity. By issuing these guidelines based solely on science, and not on what might be practical to accommodate our busy work schedules, NAIM has reminded us of how far we've drifted from, for example, our hunter-gatherer ancestors, who surely would have no problem meeting such a fitness recommendation.
