WHO invites Morris to be keynote speaker

AMAA life member Alfred Morris, Ph.D., FACSM, was the keynote speaker for the World Health Organization (WHO) Conference "The Heart and Global Health," held in Forli, Italy, in November 2003.

Dr. Morris spoke on the risk factors for coronary artery disease (CAD) and the role that exercise and "intelligent" physical activity play in the primary and secondary prevention of CAD. The program was attended by physicians and exercise scientists representing Asia, Europe, South America and North America.

Dr. Morris is the Health Improvement and Physical Fitness Director for the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Border Patrol in Washington, D.C.
