This book provides a comprehensive look at multiage education in three parts. Part three, titled "Inside the Classroom," contains five chapters that address issues most pertinent to teachers in multiage classrooms. The authors discuss establishing a positive classroom climate, then describe many instructional models and strategies that are found in multiage classrooms.

This web site offers extensive information about multiage education. It is primarily intended for multiage teachers and has links to topics of interest that are helpful to anyone interested in learning more about multiage classrooms.

Built by the teachers of the Springfield, MO, public school system, this site is still under construction. For grades K-5, teachers have contributed a number of lesson plans, categorized by content areas and grade levels. Each offers the Missouri state standard(s) involved, the instructional objectives, background material, set up and procedures, management tips, assessment options, and intelligences targeted.

2. DiscoverySchool.com web site http:// school.discovery.com/lessonplans/index.html

This site offers the Discovery Channel's archive of indexed lesson plans, keyed to grade level and subject matter. Many of the activities are designed for peer collaboration.

3. Concept to Classroom web site http://www. thirteen.org/edonline/concept2class/index.html

From the Disney Learning Partnership, this site provides a variety of resources on current educational topics. One of its key elements is collaborative and cooperative learning--with explanations and lesson plans.
