RADM Thomas J. Allshouse, SC, USN (Ret.), 87 died Nov. 19, 2002. He retired in September 1981 following 38 years of naval service. His last assignment was as Commander, Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, Pa., a position he had held for more than four years. He served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Dale Hamilton Allshouse; daughters Sharon Rich, of Brooklet, Ga., and Karen Berlin of San Francisco, Calif.; son, Dr. Michael Allshouse of Fresno, Calif.; one brother; and eight grandchildren. Services were held on Dec. 4, 2002, at the Naval Academy Chapel. This was followed by interment at the Naval Academy Cemetery.

RADM LeRoy E. Hopkins, SC, USN (Ret.) passed away on Nov. 10, 2002. He retired on March 1, 1977, after more than 32 years of active naval service. A veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, he was serving as Deputy Commander for Contracts, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., at the time of his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Rita; sons Mark L. Hopkins of Gainesville, Va., and Matthew T. Hopkins of Purcellville, Va.; and four grandchildren. Services were held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at 1 p.m., at The Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, Va., followed by a full honors interment at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to National Cancer Institute,: Financial Management Branch, Bldg. 31, Rm. 11A1 6, 9000 Rockville Pk., Bethesda, MD 20892, or Hospice of Northern Virginia, P.O. Box 1576, Merrifield, VA 22116-1576.
CWO2 Victor J. Chernoff, USN (Ret.), 93, passed away on Aug. 20, 2002, while residing at the Sunbridge Heritage nursing home in Stockton, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Zora "Jean" Chernoff of Stockton; children Victor "Skip" Chernoff of Sheep Ranch, Calif., James Chernoff, San Luis Obispo, Calif, and Terry Gilbert and Gina McDonald, both of Stockton. He is also survived by a brother, a sister, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Services were held Aug. 27 at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home in Stockton with interment at East Union Cemetery, Manteca, Calif.
