FISC Norfolk Det Washington recognized for excellence

Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Detachment Washington Postal Operations Division received the Federal Mail Center of Excellence Award for 2002. The detachment operates the Navy Postal Consolidation Facility at Naval District Washington's Anacostia Annex. This award is presented each year as a result of a nationwide competition that is part of the General Services Administration's Federal Mail Best Practices Program.

Ernest Terry runs the Department of Navy/Navy Washington District Regional Postal Consolidation Facility at Anacostia. John Gvozd is his assistant and Daphne Cook is the postal inspector. There ate 18 FISC civil service employees in the facility.

In addition to ah award plaque for the office, each of the employees received a personal award certificate and a share of the $2,500 prize.

FISC Norfolk Det. Washington Officer-in-Charge CAPT Mark Westin presented the award plaque and GSA Award Certificates and checks to employees of the Postal Operations Division. Employees receiving the award included Samuel Robinson, Anthony Warren, Reginald McPherson, Patricia Amaker, Eugene Long, David Brown, and Jorge Mercado, Terry, Edward Reynolds, Gvozd, Keith Williams, Nathaniel Dunson, Edward O'Connor, Stanley McCaskill, Daniel Collins, Carl Liu, Anthony Lee, Crystal Lewis, and Gloria Jones.
