CAPT Christopher D. Knaggs, SC, USN, completed 28 years of active service and retired on Oct. 1, 2003, after serving at Headquarters, Military Traffic Management Command, Alexandria, Va. He received his bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan and his master's degrees at Naval Postgraduate School, Salve Regina University, and Navy War College.

His previous duty stations include Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; U.S. Strategic Command, Omaha, Neb.; USS Frank Cable (AS 40); Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Commander, Field Command, Defense Nuclear Agency, Kirkland AFB, N.M.; Professional Education Program Australia, Canberra, Australia; Naval Supply Center, Charleston, S.C.; USS Sperry (AS 12); Defense General Supply Center, Richmond, Va.; and USS Casimir Pulaski (SSBN 633) (Blue).
