Flex-shaft vibrators with patented square heads, such as this model (903-FI-14), reportedly consolidate concrete quicker and more effectively than vibrators with round heads. The reasons, according to the company, are that its head provides up to 27% more external surface, and a flat vibrating surface is more effective at transmitting energy pulses into a mass of fresh concrete. Another key feature is a high-efficiency 15-amp motor, which will drive heads of five diameters: 1 5/8, 1 3/4, 2, 2 1/4, and 2 1/2 inches. Under normal job conditions this motor operates at less than 65% of full load capacity, allowing the vibrator to retain speed under heavy loads and use longer flexible shafts and larger vibrator heads. The frequency range of the Model 903-FI-14 is 9000 to 11,000 vpm with a centrifugal force of 472 to 702 pounds. (262-639-6770; fax: 262.639.2023) Circle 6
