By generating high-intensity vibration at lower rpms (7000 maximum), The Rattler flexible-shaft vibrator reportedly is very effective in lower-slump concrete (1 to 1 1/2 inches). Equally important, operating at a lower rpm enhances reliability and extends wear life, according to the company. Powering this vibrator is a 1.5-hp Robin 2-cycle engine (air-cooled). The Rattler also features a 9-foot-long shaft with steel-reinforced cable housing to withstand tough daily usage. Lightweight (just 20 pounds), the vibrator is designed for one person to start and operate--eliminating the need for straps and backpacks. (800-788-5997; fax: 270.554.2628) Circle 8
