WOC and ECCO help you go green - News - World of Concrete - Environmental Council of Concrete Organizations - Brief Article - Product/Service Evaluation

Concrete Producer, The, Nov, 2003

Learn how to "build green" with the new Sustainability-Green Building Web page on the World of Concrete online bookstore.

The World of Concrete (WOC), in association with The Environmental Council of Concrete Organizations (ECCO), has added a new Sustainability section on the WOC Web site. In response to the growing interest in environmentally friendly construction, WOC created this Web page with about 30 books on sustainability. This is the only site that contains materials from the many organizations promoting sustainability, including the National Concrete Masonry Association, the American Concrete Institute, the Sustainable Building Council, and others.

Books, such as The GreenSpec Directory and Green Building Guidelines, provide information on green materials, where to find them, and product specifications. Standards like the Use of Fly Ash in Concrete, Guide for the Use of Silica Fume in Concrete, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-rise Buildings, and others are also found in the section.

The goal is to provide a single source for information on how to build green. World of Concrete and ECCO want to spread the news that concrete is one of the single-most environmentally friendly construction products currently available.
