Business and law workshops slated - News - Understand the Concrete Contractor's Business - Brief Article

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) will sponsor Understand the Concrete Contractor's Business, a three-day workshop for mid-level staff, Jan. 27-29. The Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) will host the event at its office in Lansing, Mich.
It will include residential homebuilder's processes and needs; commercial, industrial and government construction planning, design, and procurement; contractors estimating methods; construction equations and formulas; and estimating construction projects for project planning and scheduling.
Attendees should include ready mix producers' operations staff who schedule and allocate resources to deliver customers' needs, producers' sales and inside administrative and support staff', technical staff" who work with contractors' specifications, and vendors so they can understand the needs of their ready-mix customers.
NRMCA also will host an Employment Law and Workforce seminar at its Research Foundation Education Center, Feb. 3-4. Topics will include hiring, communications skills, performance evaluations, documentation, and conflict resolution.
