Sensor solves battery system problems - Truck Products

Concrete Producer, The, August, 2003

The "Load Dump" sensor solves battery-system problems that occur due to high voltage transients. An outside testing laboratory examined this sensor with existing specifications to ensure the sensor would perform as required. The technical name for this type of sensor is Immunity to Conducted Transients On Power Leads. It has been tested and meets the SAE-J1113-11 specs. Tests for SAE-J1113-11 were established for both 12- and 24-volt systems and provide repeatable measurements to determine the susceptibility of electrical transients, particularly along battery feed and switched ignition, generated in those systems.
