The power of cutters
Masonry Construction, Sept, 2003
Inclusion in the Ultimate Work Zone means achieving excellence-and part of what defines excellence is the ability to provide quality craftsmanship while maintaining a view toward innovation.
In the realm of power cutters, Partner Industrial wrote the book on innovation. From its launch of the world's first hand-held power cutter in 1958 (the Partner K11), to its subsequent string of revolutionary and unique technical developments, it has earned a reputation as the leading cutting expert in the world.
Today Partner's product line features a variety of quality cutters, including gas-powered, electric-powered, and air- and hydraulic-powered saws for a variety of applications, including demolition work; pile, asphalt or concrete cutting; or dismantling work on cars or boats. In addition, together with Dimas and Target, Partner develops a comprehensive range of diamond blades for cutting jobs and machines of all types. As an added bonus: all Partner power saws can be pressure washed.
The Partner K950 Active solution
With the K950 Active, Partner has combined 40 years of experience with the latest advances, focusing on user ergonomics, safety and reliability. The result is a completely new power cutter with a slimmer, more manageable body and a highly efficient 94-cc engine with the raw power required for 16" blades.
The K950 Active is easy and comfortable to work with, and features a vibration-isolated handle system with perfect handle spacing, which increases the productivity of both machine and operator. It also features a reversible cutting arm to allow easy cutting close to walls or the ground, and the one-press EasyStart decompression valve, which reduces starting cord resistance for an easy, smooth start.
The K950 Active has an enclosed drive belt to protect the transmission in the cutting arm from dust and moisture, and a completely new blade guard with rubber bearings. A unique locking system makes it much easier to set the guard to the correct position during cutting.
The K950 Chain
When a job calls for the versatility of a gas-powered saw with more far-reaching applications, the new Partner K950 Chain fits the bill. It's a handy, versatile and easy-to-use diamond blade cutter, that will easily cut through 15" (350 mm) -thick walls, ceilings and floors from one side, and can make square openings as small as 4-3/8" x 4-3/8" (11 cm by 11 cm).
The specially designed hand protection has a replaceable rubber hand guard on the front handle, which protects hands while also serving as support for vertical cutting. And the handle's efficiently designed openings allow a good view of the work.
The K950 Chain features an automatically lubricated clutch bearing; easy, tool-free chain tensioning; and an external chain for quick assembly of bar and chain. Plus, water flow is simple to adjust during operation using an accessible tap on the handle, and a large spray guard reduces the amount of water and slurry sprayed on the operator.
Standard features from Partner
Both the K950 Active and K950 Chain include some of Partner's industry-leading breakthroughs:
* Active Air Filtration[TM], a combination of three separate filter systems. With Active Air Filtration[TM], up to 90% of all the cutting dust is already separated in the maintenance-free centrifugal stage.
* SmartCarb[TM] carburetor with built-in filter compensation maintains a constant air/fuel ratio. Together, Active Air Filtration[TM] and SmartCarb[TM] maintain high power output longer, reduce filter costs, lower fuel consumption, and reduce exhaust emissions.
* DuraStarter[TM] long-life starter mechanism.
Partner's patented, sealed starter mechanism is practically maintenance free, thanks to a unique design which seals the return spring and the pulley bearing. And the DuraStarter[TM] now has a stronger starter cord, DuraLine, which increases its durability by many times.
