Florida Association forms foundation

Masonry Construction, Jan, 2003

The Masonry Association of Florida (MAF), with support from the Florida concrete block producers, has formed the Apprentice and Education Foundation to organize, direct, and maintain a strong apprentice system for the state's masonry trade. The MAF has identified the need to train over 500 masons per year to satisfy the growing construction demand in Florida.

The foundation, located in Boca Raton, is headed by Executive Director Pat McLaughlin, president of PM Training and Consulting Inc. Up to five apprentice coordinators will assist McLaughlin in recruiting, training, and placing the new masons.
