Yates County Courthouse Penn Yan, New York

Masonry Construction, Feb, 2003

The courthouse was designed with a 19th century appearance while using innovative structural elements of the 21st century. The facade features solid and cored brick, architectural precast stone, ground face concrete block, and reinforced concrete masonry.

The 8-foot high belt course and the cornice tablature and frieze were constructed of precast stone units and solid ground face 16x24-inch concrete blocks with integral precast concrete water tables. The facade incorporates common and Flemish brick bonds. Brick arches were constructed using a concealed lintel system.
