Brazos River Authority Waco, Texas

Masonry Construction, Feb, 2003

This project started out with a great hurdle to overcome--the owner's dream for the building didn't match his bank account. The original design called for cut limestone and very little chopped stone. Brazos Masonry showed the owner that it could get a similar look with sawn limestone at a lower price.

Company craftsmen used 16 to 24-inch limestone pieces cut individually to turn an 18-foot radius with a minimum of shadows. The project required 300 tons of stone, 1290 pieces of cast stone, and 60,000 modular brick.

The owner also wanted the office complex to have a natural look. Battered columns and archways helped achieve this goal.
