French Country Home LaDue, Missouri

Masonry Construction, Feb, 2003

The owners of this 10,000+-square foot residence wanted to achieve the feel of a French cottage in a new home that looked 100 years old. Old-world stone and stucco achieved this effect.

Leonard Masonry meticulously blended Eden, Landon, and Chilton veneer stone to match the owner's requirements. Natural color mortar and rake joints make the edges of the stone stand out. A bullnose shape was used for the wainscoat and arches over the windows have a jack brick arch. The residence features reddish hand-cast Belden brick for the exterior, a brick rowlock around the house, blue-gray windows, a driveway edged in cobblestone, and a natural stone patio.

A brick fireplace is constructed from stone that matches the exterior.
