Masonry Construction, Feb, 2003
Cop-R-Cote laminated through-wall flashing has three layers of waterproofing material combined into a single, full sheet of copper that provides complete resistance to acid and alkali to ensure permanent moisture protection. Coated with a special plasticized asphalt, the flashing weighs 2, 3, 5, or 7 ounces per square foot and a total weight no less than 6 ounces per square foot. The product is flexible and easily formed by hand at the jobsite and is used for weep holes, horizontal and vertical masonry surfaces, parapets, or copings. It is high in tensile strength to resist stretching and tough enough to bear the compressive forces in the masonry wall without harmful cold flow. The copper core is permanently waterproofed and withstands all harmful acid and alkali action that is present in fresh mortar.
