Symposium seeking masonry papers

Masonry Construction, Feb, 2005 by Ron Holzhauer

The Symposium on Masonry sponsored by ASTM Committee C12 on Mortars and Grouts for Unit Masonry is seeking papers for presentation at its June 13 meeting in Toronto. The symposium, which is cosponsored by ASTM Committees C01 on Cement, C07 on Lime, and C15 on Manufactured Masonry Units, will be held in conjunction with the June 13-14 standards development meetings of Committees C12 and C15.

The objective of the symposium is to gather and disseminate the latest information on all aspects of innovations in masonry materials, design, specifications, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation. It will emphasize the application of ASTM standards to those areas, and their coordination with building codes, project specifications, and international standards.

Presenters/authors must submit the online Abstract Submittal Form located at www.astm.org/SYMPOSIA, and attach a 250-300 word abstract by April 4. The abstract must clearly define the objective and approach of the work discussed, point out new material, and present sufficient details regarding results. Selected authors will be notified by July 1.
