1500 Graduate from NCMA Program

Masonry Construction, Feb, 2005 by Ron Holzhauer

The National Concrete Masonry Association graduated 1500 from its Level 1 segmental retaining wall installer program during the past year. NCMA conducted 58 one-day installer training programs, and attendees obtaining a grade of 80% or higher on the multiple choice exam were awarded a Certificate of Achievement.

The education program provides the segmental retaining wall installer with a fundamental understanding of structural performance and recommended minimum industry guidelines for SRW construction. The exam evaluated the individual's understanding of structural capabilities and limitations, soils and compaction, water and drainage considerations, and minimum installation requirements.
