This injection-molded brick vent is made of flexible PVC formed in an offset "T" shape. When inserted in vertical mortar joints between two brick, the slotted leg of the vent permits air to pass in and out, allows water to weep out, and blocks moisture from penetrating.

The cavity vent weep system creates a number of openings at the lowest point of the cavity or core of the wall. It forms the bottom side of the mortar's bed joint, and its 3/16-inch thickness does not affect the normal layout. It creates four vent holes every 9 1/2 inches on the entire perimeter.

Weep holes are made of injection-molded flexible PVC (model 343) of painted aluminum (model 343W). The configuration of the louvers directs the movement of water from the cavity to the outside of the building while preventing the reverse passage of water. The design permits air to enter the cavity, which aids pressure equalization and reduces suction.

Dur-O-Wal.
The D/A 1006 cell vent weep hole ventilator ensures that moisture entering or exiting the wall cavity passes over the exterior veneer rather than dropping into the core, which can cause efflorescence or spalling. The shape keeps the space between the masonry units free of mortar. The outside face is installed 1/8 inch flora the masonry unit.
