Masonry Institute of Washington reveals design award winners

All forms of masonry construction brick, block, stone, and tile--were honored by the Masonry Institute of Washington at its annual "Excellence in Masonry Design Awards" banquet, according to Executive Director Barbara Headrick.
Honor Awards were selected in seven categories.
* Commercial, under $250,000 masonry portion--Lynden Public Library, (below right) submitted by Ross McClure Cornwell Architects PLLC and All Masonry and Concrete
* Commercial, under $1 million masonry portion--Seattle Pacific University Science Building, submitted by Miller/Hull Architects and Lund Masonry
* Commercial, over $1 million masonry portion--William H. Gates School of Law, University of Washington, (above right) submitted by Lease Crutcher Lewis and Mahlum Architects and Fairweather Masonry
* Residential--Lakeshore Gothic, submitted by Curtis Gelotte Architects and Western Masonry
* Rehab/Restoration (tie)--Starbucks Center, submitted by Ron Wright & Associates PS and Barkshire Panel Systems
* Rehab/Restoration (tie)--Redman Residence, submitted by Cardwell Architects and Barkshire Panel Systems
* CMU--Olympic College Plant Services Building, (below left) submitted by Schreiber & Lane Architects and MAMI
Two of the winning projects shared the "Top Award:" Olympic College Plant Services Building and William H. Gates School of Law, University of Washington.
