Portland hosting National Preservation Conference

The National Preservation Conference provides all-important know-how, innovative ideas, and inspiration for people saving America's historic places and revitalizing communities. The 2005 event is scheduled for September 27-October 2 in Portland, Ore.

The Conference, based on the theme "Sustain America: Vision, Economics, and Preservation," will explore cutting-edge adaptive use, infill, and mixeduse projects incorporating a range of state/local financial incentives, public sector leadership, and green architecture. It also will examine the intersections of sustainability and current needs in cultural heritage tourism, historic sites, and heritage education.
