SBIC picks new board of directors

The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC) has announced the election of its new board of directors for the 2005-2006 term.

Re-elected to the board were J. Gregg Borchelt, vice president of the Brick Industry Association; Scott SEar, president of The Stella Group Ltd. and representative for the Solar Energy Industries Association; Dona Stankus, building program manager for the North Carolina Solar Center; and Michael Weise, director of government marketing for Trane and treasurer for SBIC.

First-time members joining the board are Gary DeSantis, senior corporate architect for the BASF Corp.; and Ken Langer, president of Environmental Market Solutions Inc.

"Our new board includes representatives from all sectors of the building industry," said Helen English, executive director of the Council. "This makeup will ensure that

SBIC maintains its position as a leader in the sustainable building industry." SBIC is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the design, affordability, energy performance, and environmental soundness of America's buildings. Council membership is open to private and public organizations and individuals who share this mission.
