Wood planks meet or exceed current standards

Masonry Construction, July-August, 2004

GripStrip planks for the company's frame scaffold are constructed of dense, industrial 65 solid, sawn wood, and stamped to indicate that they meet or exceed OSHA and ANSI standards. They are treated with an advanced waterproofing end sealer that penetrates the wood fibers and protects against moisture and UV damage.

Hydraulically-pressed spiral-twist steel pins are polished and heat-treated and then pressed into a smaller-diameter, precision-drilled hole to further reduce end splits. Corners are mitered for ease of handling and installation. Three load-bearing duty ratings are available: light (up to 285 pounds), medium (up to 460 pounds), and heavy (up to 725 pounds). Five lengths ate available, ranging from 6-16 feet.
